Prudential Knight & Gardner Realty carries on a tradition of outstanding residential and commercial real estate services. The original Knight Realty, Inc. was established in Key West, Florida in 1957 by Edward B. Knight. Already successful as the owner of an automobile dealership, Mr. Knight developed an interest in real estate with exposure to the industry through his family and personal investments. Edward decided to open the first Knight Realty office next to KT Motors, the successful Volkswagen dealership owned by Mr. Knight, at 1111 Eaton Street. Working as a team, he and his wife Joan became the first real estate professionals at Knight Realty. Edward would negotiate the transactions while Joan would show real estate to prospective buyers. The real estate office was moved to its existing location at 336 Duval Street
Upon its creation, Knight Realty quickly established itself as one of the leading real estate firms in the Florida Keys. For over five decades the firm has been a leader in residential real estate services and has participated in most of Key West's largest commercial projects including shopping centers, hotels, Duval retail, restaurants and office buildings. This tradition lives on today through Prudential Knight & Gardner.
