About Joanne Tarantino

After wonderful visits with my father, a retired naval officer, who owned a home in Key West, I decided that Key West was the place for me. I sold my home and successful real estate company in Colorado, a beautiful but chilly state, and moved to Key West in 1991. Being a "navy brat" born in Hawaii and raised in San Diego, the move was an easy decision for me to sell real estate in the Florida Keys and stay warm year-round! I had to hit the ground running.

It took a couple of years to get things going in Key West, but it started to pay off. I've been one of the top agents in town since then. Most of my business comes from repeat business or word of mouth. I really like to use the years of experience to make each real estate transaction as smooth and stress-free as possible. Do you remember "career day" in high school when you had to guess at what your career might be and do research on it? I never dreamed that I would be a real estate broker for most of my working life, and I have, except for a little-known fact that I dealt blackjack in Las Vegas for 5 years in my twenties.

My biggest blessing in life, aside from my husband, whom I dated for 9 years before marrying, and my two kids, is that I have a job that I really like doing. In my spare time, I enjoy boating in Key West. When ashore, I love puttering in the garden and am a member of the Key West Garden Club, Key West Botanical Garden, Key West Yacht Club, and SPCA. I have some delightful friends that I play bridge and pickleball with, and have a little umbrella cockatoo called Mimi!
